Scroll Digital Awards Night

Thursday, December 8, 2011

Tonight was a VERY good night.

First of all, we had our Scroll Digital Awards Night, which was so fun! I'm so glad I finally got to go because last fall when I did I-news, I couldn't go. :(

And I even won TWO awards!! This picture is TERRIBLE but it's the only one we took. (Also, please ignore the "I'm right about to go to bed" look I'm sporting) I know, stupid. But Aaron gave me the award for Best Reporter and Kayla gave me the award for Most Consistent Quality. I was so so so happy!! Especially because Aaron gave the NICEST little speech when he gave me my award about how he's seen me just consistently get better and he was very proud. My favorite part was when he said that he is usually critical and doesn't give a lot of compliments because he doesn't want people to get a big head and then plateau. So he basically complimented my work, which was very nice. And Kayla talked about how positive I was to work with and how I was always getting better and better. So nice. The whole thing was just great. And I was so happy to see everyone else get their awards!! We had THE best crew ever. I was so happy to work with them all so closely and get to see them all get the recognition they all deserve.

Also, I had a very nice talk with a very sweet boy. :) I obviously won't go into tooo much detail because that's creepy and weird to journal all this (who knows whose eyes read this) but I also know I'll forget it until I write it down somewhere. So I'll just say we took out the toothbrush to brush the surface of a very important subject. James and I drove around to look at Christmas lights around Rexburg, which was awesome because James knows ALL the awesome spots from his mission. But anyway, then we went to one of the churches and just sat and talked. It was really nice. I'd say I had quite the lovely night. I spent it with the people closest to me and nothing beats days like that.

I found this when I was emailing Qiarra and realized I wanted to keep it here forever. So here is my family....

I miss those nutcases. I love the way my parents are with me. Our relationship is just...strange but in the best way possible. We're so weird, but really do love each other to death. I miss them a lot.

Scroll Digital's First Show!

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Yesterday in Scroll Digital, we got critiqued by Brother Thompson and Brother Howard, both of whose opinions mean a LOT to us in the Comm Department because they have sooo much experience! I loooved their comments. Unfortunately, they ran out of time before they could get to my story. But. Here it is for you to watch and critique. Feel free to leave comments. This was only the FIRST show, so be gentle. Like I said, we've been called to repentence and we're ready to take it on! And please please please watch everyone's stories as well riiight here.

One of ABBA's Finest Hour

I found this little jewel today...Well...Actually I kind of went looking for it after Alex told me she watched it. It made me want to too. I love it. This was the beginning of the Foursome of Trouble (as Brady called us) and it makes me laugh to watch this again. This night, Alex and I were sure we could take on scrawny Ben together and then it just turned into a serious WWF match. I couldn't upload the others 1) because some were only funny to watch had you been there and 2) Blogger only allows 100 MBs for movies and the best one is like 200+. Haha I know. I love my camera a little too much. Gosh. Spring was the best semester ever. I have sooo many fun memories (which I still plan on blogging about and since I am done with work, maybe I'll do one or a couple everyday? Sounds like a fun project to me!) and I am counting down the days to get back to Rexburg. I know, I know. I'm sure people don't normally say that. But it's true. I mean, look how fun it is! I love it up there! Ya hear me Rexburg?! I love ya no matter what they say about you.

Also. A few weeks ago, I did a photo shoot with my sister's friend, Patty. It was for her portfolio and it was SO much fun!! I got to dress up and everything. Anyway, I got a preview of what it looks like from Erin. Sooo...hopefully Patty doesn't mind if I put it on my blog?

Never Grow Up

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Ok, first of all, I think I blog too much. It's pretty sad when something cool or fun or intense happens to me, and I think Oh man, I should blog about that! It's pathetic really. Oh well. I know of at LEAST 4 people that read this. Haha But. I think I am going to do another blog challenge in March and actually try to keep to it because that's the only thing that will keep me sane while I patiently (yeah right) wait for delicious spring** to come!!!!! So. Bare with me. Haha

**Actually, spring semester usually involves allergy attacks, sunburns, and sweating throughout the night for me. But honestly...I can't wait!

Also, I needed a new post because I am sick of looking at that Preamble movie now. So. I might as well talk about something fun. Like Mason's birthday!! Oh my gosh, I am such a jerk. I never blogged about it!! When I asked Mason to take a picture with me, right before it flashed, I said "Show me how old you are now!" And this is how it turned out. Haha And earlier in the day, I was asking him about turning four and how sad I was that he was getting so big, and he says "Ashwee, (I am going to be so so sad when his little accent goes away) four is not big yet. Five is big...Carter's big, but I'm still a little boy. Don't be sad!" Haha

Poor little guy was so sick the whole beginning of the day and ended up sleeping after church all the way until dinner time. But it was nice because Mike, Mason, and I all took a little nap while Erin, Rachel, and Carter all went and checked out his cake. And I wrapped the presents, and we all set up for the party. But it was so sad that he was not feeling well at all.

Anyway, for the actual birthday part, Erin and Mike threw him a cute little mini-party on Sunday (since it was Sunday, they were having cake and ice cream and then Erin took him and his friends to McDonald's for lunch on Tuesday and they went back and played games. So cute) and it was awesome!!!! What adorable parents. :)

Erin's friend, Michelle, made his cake and it was AWESOME!!! It was a Ben 10 Omnitrex and it looked legit. And tasted that way too! Rachel told me she told Michelle she was going to make Rae's wedding cake. I'm stealing her as well. Haha There were party masks, action figures, toys, and it was just plain cute. They just had some of his and their friends come over and they played games and we sang and had cake and ice cream! It was sooo cute and sooo fun to watch my little nephew turn 4. Good grief he's getting big!! And he's such a goofball. :) I hope this year goes by veeeeery slow. And don't even get me started on May when Carter turns 6. Not one person will be excited he's growing up so fast. Kill me now.

Happy Birthday little baby!

I ♥ Love

Well, another Valentine's Day down. And I have to say, this one wasn't half bad!!

I kept getting the nicest text messages today, Rachel and I went shopping (there was a sale at Forever 21) and got to have some sister bonding time, I got to babysit my freakin cute nephews which included a whole lot of this...

They are doing the Just Dance version of the song. So talented.

But I woke up (Bible, it was like a movie) and there was a box of Sweethearts on the pillow from my dad, which was the NICEST surprise!! It set my mood on "happy" for the rest of the day. And I just love that at Erin's house, she had made all these Valentine chocolate covered strawberries for her the people she visit teaches and Carter's teachers and it just looked like Valentine's Day over there. And I got to babysit my nephews!!! I love those little guys. If I could play with them and just listen to them talk all day, I would. Poor Mason was so sick with a fever, so I felt bad but they wanted to kind of just lay around and we had pizza and played a couple games, but it was still so cute. They are so funny!!! I mean, the video proves it all.

The other thing I wanted to blog about was Mason's birthday, but that deserves it's own little post I think. SO cute. Oh! And good news, I saw this article today, and can you guess what number 4 (MY LUCKY NUMBER!!) is? Thaaaat's right. BOOM baby!!! Haha Great great day I'd say.

*I didn't mean for that to rhyme. "My wife says if I read anymore Dr. Suess, I might actually turn into Dr. Suess." (fingers crossed!)

I so do not realize how blessed I am!!! I have great friends, family, a healthy body...I have it all!!
I saw this video today and it actually made me teary-eyed!! People can say what they want about society today, and yes it is getting pretty bad. However, this video proves that there are still amazing people out there. What a sweetheart!!

He has my vote! :)

My blog is pretty dang boring. SO! I have for your entertainment today, some select videos that will make your soul giggle. All of them include inSANE tricks that I am determined to acquire very very soon...

Our first little number is an AWESOME reader. I'm not just talking she reads with passion or great annunciation or something. No no. Far better...I won't give away the treat, but here you go. Enjoy...and you're welcome.
[I saw this video on my Yahoo homepage today, and it made my day. Gosh, what moxy. I bet I could learn if I tried REALLY hard. I mean, I bet she's great at Mad Gab too...right?!]

The other SUPER amazing video is this one. I am DETERMINED to learn this before the end of the year. DETERMINED, you hear me!? Hey, if I can't dance on a table in the library, I guess my hands will get to have all the fun.

Also, tip for the day: Check things out. Just...FYI.

2011 babyyyy!!

Monday, January 3, 2011

So New Years Eve was a BLAST!!! Hooray for Alex and I getting out of our norms and just watching the ball drop and then watching a movie. Haha We were going to go clubbin (since we're fiiiinally 21 and can do those sorts of things) but Alex's mom said that it would be super dangerous since we'd be driving to San Diego on the road with everyone who was wasted. Probably not a good combination. But. We decided to check out some local places and they turned out not lookin so good. So we pulled over, about to go with our default plan, but I remembered this thing in Old Town Temecula called "the Grape Drop" where they were going to drop 7 ft grapes at midnight. I figured we could check that out, so we did. What we didn't consider was the fact that it was like 3o something degrees outside!!!!!! We had dressed to get all hot in a club and so you better believe we were frozen. But! It was so so much fun!!!! They had live music and they were hilarious, not to mention talented! So we mostly watched the other couples around us dance (they were SO cute! All the husbands trying to keep up with their wives) and then....the BIG MOMENT came!!!....

So now for the obvious.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS!!!!
1. Be MUCH better at communication (with my phone)
2. Keep my workouts just as good at home as they were at school.
3. Try to make myself happy versus trying to put eeeeveryone else first.
4. Show more gratitude for everyone and everything I have.
5. Go Thomas Edison this year.

I figured I should keep the list somewhat short so that I could actually keep them all. Haha Happy New Years everyone!!! Bring it on 2011!! It's sure to be a year to remember!!

Nothin On Us

Thursday, December 30, 2010

Okay, can I just say how amazing BYU-Idaho is?! I think everyone underestimates it as a school. People always say how lame it is and you only go there if you "can't get into BYU-Provo" which is so dumb. We have some amazing people attending this school. I love it so so much. And this video makes me even happier and more proud that I go there!!! Watch it. It's one of the coolest things you've probably seen in a while and it shows the super talented people we have at our school. You definitely can't see me, but you better believe I looooved doing it!! I LOVE BYU-IDAHO!!

Memory Lane

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Alright. Day 02 of blogging challenge: A really good memory.

Easy. 19th Birthday. It was the best day ever. Alex (bestest friend in the whole wide universe), Spencer, Ryan, and I first started out the day with breakfast at Spencer's house-which I loooove. They made breakfast for me (including the traditional orange rolls that I get on my birthday every year!) with eggs and bacon and the whole enchilada! (Well, not enchiladas thank goodness) and then we all drove down to Hollywood and listened to all our favorite songs (thanks to the cd Al made), especially Manchester Orchestra since we were going down there for their concert! we walked around the whole day and just ate, hung out, and Ryan and Spencer actually snuck backstage to the concert because they said they were roadies for Manchester and the security people believed them!! So they got to meet Say Anything and hang out back there while Alex and I walked around and went shopping. The concert was amazing too. They played all my favorite songs, Andy was smokin hot, and after, I got a picture of Robert and Freeman from the back!!

We even left a little early (we didn't really care about Say Anything) and were walking back and saw their VAN parked like blocks over!!! So Spencer and Ryan left a note. We're always going to wonder what happened to it. Haha But yeah. Cheesecake Factory, train, music, dancing, lights...It replays in my mind all the time. It was a perfect day. Best friends in a great place. :)

If you don't know Manchester, here is the reason I love them.

Keeping Up With the Martins?

Friday, November 26, 2010

So, as we all know, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is in my top 3 favorite shows ever. It doesn't matter WHAT I am in the middle of, if it's on, I'm taking a break. Ok, well this is why. Sometimes I seriously see my own family in them. This clip is TOTALLY something I could see us all doing. I would be Khloe, Mom would be Kris, Dad would be Bruce, and Rachel would be Kiley. And depending on who I liked more at the time, my "favorite" sibling would be Rob and win. It's sooo funny! I love it. This is one, and here's another. If you don't just love them, you got it all wrong doll.

I'm glad they called them on a mission!

MILAN, ITALY

Yes, it is official. BOTH of my amazing roommates are going to the most beautiful place (says me) in the world. Of course, I am jealous. BUT. I am mooore boiling over with excitement for both Kim and Camille!! How funny is it that they both got called to the same mission while living in the same apartment!? Kim is reporting February 2, 2011 while Camille will be reporting on March 16, 2011. Both are going to the Provo MTC to learn ITALIAN!! Just thought I should share. I am sooo excited for the both of them to start this new chapter!! Congrats my favorite "sorella"s!!!

P-Night

Friday, October 15, 2010

Tonight was SO awesome!! After a really rough week, I was ready to just hang around and relax around my apartment. Well the amazing thing is my roommates had that very same idea! So we got pizza (with crazy crust of course, my favorite) and while we ate it together, we watched all kinds of wedding shows (Say Yes to the Dress is our favorite. We love Randy). Then once we had digested it, Melissa and Kim went out and got cookie dough and ice cream to make a pizookie!!! So we ate that up, hung out and cracked up a ton, then all got in our pj's and watched the Notebook and cried together. Awwww, I know. We're adorable. It's been SUCH a fun night. I really have been so stressed lately & busy so I never even get to hang out with my roommates and see who they are! So it's nice to have a break. And I really love my roommates. We get along so well and just have fun hanging around together. Not many people would want to do, but we love it! It's so fun. Oh, it is love. Haha

And on a side note, Melissa and I were almost killed tonight. Consider yourself lucky we're still around. We were just sitting there, enjoying the wonderful movie, when all of a sudden, at the same time, we noticed this HUGE black blob crusin around the floor RIGHT by our feet. There was a fly in our apartment, so we thought that's what it was. When we realize it's CRAWLING and not FLYING, we veeery loudly say "Whaaat is THAT!?" almost at the same time and we both JUMP UP offf the ground and scream and run around onto the couch. Camille saved the day and killed it with a shoe, but we had quite a long laugh after that... :)

The pizookie made only with love

Nothing like chick flicks in your pj's, let me tell ya
